The Tragic Fire in Los Gallardos and the European Union Victory

The tragedy hit strong in the calm Sierras of Los Gallardos (Almeria), the old and beautiful road to Bedar was the scene of an Apocalyptic cruelty. Years of effort to repopulate these areas by British citizens who refunded it with happiness and investments that assisted by a yearly splendid sunshine for almost all the year, and the friendly and quiet reception of Spanish citizens, who sees in them a permanent source of prosperity for the region was dramatically attacked by an uncontrollable fire that killed and destroyed everything in its passing.
The answer of the Spanish government was of a high and outstanding professional quality. Hundreds of military personnel, professional fire departments, members of the emblematic Guardia Civil, sanitary professional’s, and the use of all airplanes, helicopters and the most modern technologies make the citizens understand how important the European Union contributes to each country of the Union; where governments in most cases just work on auto pilot.
We all felt in 2002 that the Euro made us more poor, but we invested in quality and in a more secure future that makes Europeans proud of our life standards, services and security.
