This a cliche’ for Jews that is already part of modern human history.
It’s an Italian film of 1948 “L Ebreo Errante” Directed by Goffredo Alessandrini, with the main role of Vittorio Gassman, that makes very clear an incredible historical fact.
The Jew that didn’t help another Jew(Jesus), in a very critical time for Judaism very near to the destruction of the second temple, and the world force’s Diaspora for the Jews. Jesus wanted reform an ancient culture, or to ad or change things, a revisionist in one of the worst historical moments for our culture. Most Jews didn’t understand or support his efforts, but it’s true, Jews didn’t do much to save another Jew for a very injustice end. In the film, the main character (Vittorio Gassman), was not just a Jesus detractors but he refused to give some water, to the tired and in sufferance Jesus.
The guilty Jew can’t die, he lived many lives in many countries, always making big business and full of money. Until he finally gives away richness and power, just to be next to his fellows Jews, on the way to Auschwitz. In the concentration camp, he organised an escape but he surrendered to save the people of the camp that would be eliminated as punishment for his plan.
He is shot, and he died finding peace. The understanding is that a Jew always needs to help a Jew, no matter the different ideology, party or conditions. We are jews! One family!
