International Holocaust Remembrance Day

A day to remember for those who didn’t suffer, in person, this insane and barbarous tragedy. For a person who survived the concentration camps and was trying to make, let’s say a new life since this was a second one, the memories of the prior one would take you back to a black tunnel, like the recent event where our hostages were victims of another barbarity.
I think memories are beautiful and concrete pieces of happiness that help us to feel proud, to feel blessed and to give us the energy to continue living a good life, but when you were in a concentration camp or in a Hamas tunnel, accepting that you were part of a miracle of salvation, I think it isn’t a way to continue with this life, the personal and human self defense will be to start a new one, where problems or difficulties will not touch as much as others, since your prior life strengthens your temper and makes your wish a target.
This was my grandfathers secret of success, look always forward, never like sitting on a train looking backwards, since even the points in the firmament are tears that will put a cloud through your eyes because you need to see, and the pain will limite your heart to feel, and the dark images will kidnap your soul again.
Dedicated to all the Jews who suffer this abominable violence.
